To coincide with our brand refresh, we wanted a typeface that better reflected our values and complemented the creative approach to our work. We couldn’t find one we all liked … so, what did we do? We created our own.
The fonts were initially hand drawn and then turned into a fully functioning font by typeface aficionado, and our summer intern, Alessandro Cardello - with support from the rest of the SomeBrightSpark design team. We met Alessandro whilst running a module for the second year Graphic Design and Illustration course at De Montfort University.
Type played an important part of his work, so it made perfect sense for him to focus on this as part of his internship. And we’re glad he did, as the result speaks (well, reads) for itself.
